What is cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is virtual money. It serves in exactly the same way as physical money for example the pound, dollar, euro or yen, but it has no physical state – it is entirely digital and internet-based.
There are many digital equivalents to physical currencies (such as the pound) most notably bitcoin, Ripple XRP and Ethereum, all of which have their own value – a value that can be traded for profit (or loss) or used to purchase physical goods.
What is the current viewpoint towards the trading of cryptocurrencies?
Historically the trading of cryptocurrencies has not been regulated by a centralised authority or tracked by a formal institution therefore offering far less protection for investors in comparison to those trading traditional financial products such as bonds, stocks or mutual funds.
The mood however is changing swiftly towards an acceptance that crypto-trading is the start of the future. As such, Argo Blockchain plc was the first crypto-mining service provider to gain admission to the London Stock Exchange through a standard listing.
How do we conduct our investigations?
Depending on the complexity of a case our investigations may include accessing international criminal and financial records, international arrest warrants, reviewing travel or transactional patterns that raise trigger points of concern to intelligence agencies, such as money laundering or identifying whether the culprits have links to or associations with criminal or fraudulent activities.
We achieve this by having access to more than 90% of available data compared to our competitors who can only access 14%.
If you would like to recover money lost to cryptocurrency fraud would you prefer to approach a company that bases its investigations on 14% of public information? Or, partner with an agency that has access to, can build a case upon and action recovery procedures based on 90% of criminal data gathered by UK government and international intelligence agencies?
